The Refugee Experience

This two-hour experience developed in partnership with teachers, puts participants in the position of a person who must leave their home due to extreme circumstances which are out of their control. The various activities bring to life how the decisions you make impact your health, safety and future. Participants experience first-hand the needs of refugees and puts into context the work of Medair and how we serve these needs. Recommended for ages 12+.

Refugee Box

This card based activity, can be easily set up around your kitchen table or a classroom. Through stories, videos and role playing; participants gain a deeper understanding of the plight of refugees. The activity takes 45 minutes and is suitable for ages 10+.

Homes for the Holidays

We all would like to be “home” for the holidays but realise this is not always a reality for many around the globe. Take time together as a group or family and build a gingerbread house. Our “homes for the holiday” booklet provides you with conversation starters about the shelter needs of those we serve and how having a safe shelter, anytime of the year is a gift. Additionally, this activity offers simple suggestions on how you can raise money with your creation and help support our shelter projects.

Vaccine awareness campaign

Be inspired by the students of the International School of Lausanne, who put their science lessons into action and raised awareness about the importance of vaccines. This is a great example of a “viral” campaign! Why not, apply your learning too?
