Most of us do not think twice
when we drink a glass of water

But for far too many, drinking water can mean
the difference between life and death.
In fact, when crisis strikes and health risks multiply,
few things are more important for protecting lives
than providing safe water and sanitation.

This is where we come in.

Access to Safe Water

Greater access to safe drinking water saves lives, but can also lead to greater productivity, creating more time for tackling household responsibilities and earning an income. Our teams improve access to safe drinking water for communities in crisis through methods such as wells, boreholes, spring protection, and rainwater harvesting.

Sanitation

Latrines offer dignity and safety, particularly for women and girls. With your support, Medair builds hygienic latrines and handwashing stations where people live and at crucial public spaces like schools and clinics. We make sure to work alongside members of the community to provide the right training and support in hopes of sustaining the impact of our work long after we leave.

Improved Hygiene

We empower community members to mobilise and educate families on hygiene practices that prevent diarrhoea and other diseases related to unsafe drinking water and poor sanitation. Better hygiene practices such as handwashing, safe water collection and storage, and the use of hygienic latrines are proven methods to saving lives.
